Leave your thoughts

By now I think I have redeveloped my website 10 times in the last 3 years.  This time hopefully it is to stick.  I've been using CakePHP a lot and I develop most of my work in it.  So this time I went back to my CakeBlog software but this time created it from the ground up.  I made a lot of stuff last time that was not needed and added some new features.  If you are going to be developing in a framework it is probably good to have your personal website done in that framework as well.  Even better making that open source.  So that is exactly what I did.

Built with blogging platforms like Wordpress in mind, CakeBlog was a project made out of frustration.  When it comes to web development I am a control freak.  I feel you need to be to in control of everything if you are going to give your client the quality service they deserve.  A majority of these blogging platforms have restrictions.  CakeBlog is only restricted by your imagination.  This is because it is built off the CakePHP framework.  If you know CakePHP you can build whatever you want onto CakeBlog.  If you don't know CakePHP they provide awesome documentation so that you can learn it.  With some reading you will be making add-ons to CakeBlog in no time.  Best of all since it is on the CakePHP framework it can handle sites from small to large.  I've talked about CakeBlog a lot before and even though those pages are gone now I am not going to rattle on about it.  It's a blog software that makes it easy for anyone to blog or make plugins for their blog.  Now on to bigger things.

The focus on this blog isn't only going to be about coding.  For one it was semi successful but not enough.  Two I get bored writing about coding constantly and who the hell wants to blog about it after writing it all day? There are so many other topics I could write about.  Being a dad has opened a new world to me.  I can't describe the change that happened when he was born but it was like a veil that has been on me my whole life was lifted and I was seeing the world for the first time without jaded eyes.  It made me feel better as a person and made me want to be a better person.  So I started turning my life around.  I changed my diet, started working out, and I got back into snowboarding and skateboarding.  With my many hobbies, and being a dad I have plenty of content to write about.  Not just coding.

So anyways thanks for reading my blog.  I look forward to providing you some awesome content.
